One of the most important Finnish student life traditions is Teekkari and Kylteri baptism where the freshmen are baptised to be proper students. In Lappeenranta this happens on the Wappu eve - on 30th of April. ESN alongside the university guilds is taking part in this tradition. The freshmen will take a slide to the lake Saimaa and come out as proper students!

When taking part in the baptism, please note the following things:
- Overalls are very smart choice to wear
- Have dry clothes and towel with you
- Have shoes that can get wet, but absolutely NO flipflops! Shoes must stay on feet the whole time
- No glasses during baptism allowed

We expect to see all the international students taking part in this Lappeenranta tradition! :)

In the evening starting at 10:00 PM, there's a Wappu party in the Student Union building. Check out the event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/288557191581736/
